Through proprietary processes, Laboratory Research Products is dedicated to uncompromising standards of safety, quality, and excellence.

Cook MyoSite History

In 2002, Cook MyoSite, Incorporated was formed to guide the Cook Group organization into the expanding world of cellular technologies. In 2008, Cook MyoSite began developing and commercializing high-quality primary muscle cells and associated reagents. Cook MyoSite is committed to providing the research community with products to research and develop cellular treatments for a variety of disorders. Today, Cook MyoSite is dedicated to the development and subsequent commercialization of technology related to the collection, selection, and expansion of human skeletal muscle cells for the treatment of various disorders.

Leadership Team

 

Carl Cook, MBA  – CEO, Cook Group; President, Cook MyoSite, Inc.

Carl Cook earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University and his MBA from the University of Iowa. Carl joined Cook Group in 1988, the company founded by his father, Bill Cook. Since then, Carl Cook has performed a variety of duties, including engineering cardiac pacemakers and Doppler blood flow monitors and working with endoscopy products. Most recently, Carl Cook serves as the CEO of Cook Group and the President of Cook MyoSite, Inc.

 

 

Ron Jankowski, PhD – Vice President of Product Development

Ron Jankowski has been with Cook MyoSite since its founding and has more than 15 years’ experience in translational medical and biologic product development. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, master’s degree in bioengineering, and doctoral degree in bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Ron has authored and coauthored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, reviews, book chapters, and abstracts involving a wide variety of cellular-based applications. With a focus on bridging research activities with clinicians to identify unmet clinical needs and developing effective therapies, he leads the development programs for current products, evaluates new indications for existing products in development, and investigates the formation of new strategic research partnerships to expand the Cook MyoSite product pipeline. Dr. Jankowski also serves as an adjunct assistant professor for the department of bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh and, in addition to his research and business activities, is also actively involved in community promotion of innovation and entrepreneurism.

Ryan Pruchnic, MS, MBA – Vice President of Operations

Ryan Pruchnic earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and his master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Pittsburgh and his MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. While working as a research scientist investigating the experimental uses of skeletal muscle-derived cells for urinary tract tissue augmentation, he was part of the original team that custom-built the cell isolation and manufacturing technology for use in human clinical trials. Ryan has authored and coauthored numerous peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and book chapters relating to gene and cell therapy research for musculoskeletal disorders. Currently, Ryan oversees the functions of the company that include day-to-day operations and the manufacturing, quality testing and releasing of the cellular product for human use in clinical investigations, as well as leading the regulatory and clinical initiatives. Additionally, Ryan is working closely with the Global Business Manager to help shape the future market for Cook MyoSite products.
